# CSV to client report

A small Python project for repeatable reporting. It validates a CSV, groups amounts by category and produces a standalone HTML report. Includes sample data, tests and all source code. Your data stays on your computer.

## Requirements

- Python 3.10 or later

## 1. Download and extract

Download the source archive and open a terminal in its csv-report folder.

## 2. Run the example

Generate a report using the included transactions.

```sh
python3 report.py sample.csv --output report.html
```

## 3. Read and customise

Open report.html in your browser. Replace sample.csv with your own file containing category and amount columns.

## 4. Check the project

Run the included validation and escaping tests.

```sh
python3 -m unittest discover -v
```
